Vrådal Golf

 

A 9-hole golf lane, situated beautifully on the island of Fossøy near the lake Nisser, surrounded by the forest and the mountains. The lane is open for drop-in every day in spring/summer/autumn – as long as the weather conditions allow it. The lane was opened in 2013, and it has been mentioned in several media as a really good lane. Close to the lane, you will find a café, which offers waffles, ice cream, soda, chocolate and sandwiches, etc.

 

 

Experience Vrådal on a bicycle

 

At Straand Hotel & Resort you can rent bicycles and go for rides along the lake Nisser or challenge yourself by riding around the Vråvatn, a highway tour of approx. 40 km.

 

 

Straand Sommerland

 

A big playing area with trampolines, swings, tilts, climbing houses, slides, obstacle courses and ball game areas. There is also a sandy beach with a big water trampoline and pleasant bathing water. Straand Sommerland also offers a summer restaurant, where you can enjoy a cold beer, a glass of wine or the like. You will find beach volley lanes with international goals by the beach, a climbing tower with several climbing routes of various difficulty degrees, as well as rapelling facilities.

 

 

Canoe and boat rental

 

The inland lake Nisser offers skerries, islands and sandy beaches. Rent a boat or a canoe and you are ensured great water adventures.  Straand Sommerland / Straand Hotel rents out rowing boats, canoes and pedal boats. The tourist information also rents out canoes, kayaks and rowing boats with outboard motor.

Vrådal Sluice museum

 

The museum is situated at the Småstraum Sluice and tells the story of the sluices, the wood floading on the lake Nisser and the boat traffic.

Here, you will also find a complete shoemaker workshop.

 

 

M/S Fram

 

Built as early as in 1909, the boat, M/S Fram is a culture-historical element in Vrådal. The boat houses 90 persons and has a restaurant aboard. On its regular sails between Nisser and Vråvatn, the boat passes Småstraum, which is the highest placed sluice facility in Europe.
